Hire
Hire the Electrocorder CT-2VA by the week.
For one week hire, enter quantity 1. For two weeks, enter quantity 2. For three weeks, enter quantity 3, and so on.
How hire periods are counted:
- 1 week hire gives 9 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 7 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- 2 week hire gives 16 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 14 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- 3 week hire gives 23 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 21 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- Part weeks are rounded up to the next whole week.
You are responsible for returning the logger to us after the hire period has finished, using your own courier.
Overview
Hire the Electrocorder CT-2VA for temporary logging work.
Use it when you need to record voltage and current together on a single-phase circuit, then review power and energy behaviour over time. The CT-2VA is suited to distribution boards, meter boards and circuits where a clamp-on current transformer can be fitted around the conductor.
Good hire choice for:
- Single-phase power and energy monitoring on accessible circuits.
- Checking whether low voltage is related to high current demand.
- Energy audits and load surveys on smaller single-phase circuits.
- Facilities and maintenance investigations where voltage and current need to be compared.
Consider another hire model if:
- You need a flexible current sensor for larger conductors, where the EC-2VA may be a better fit.
- You need plug-in appliance monitoring, where the AL-2VA may be easier to use.
- You need three-phase power and power factor, where the EC-7VAR-RS is more appropriate.
Hire kit includes:
- CT-2VA logger.
- Clamp-on current transformer, voltage lead with plug, USB lead, carry case, battery, user instructions and free Electrosoft analysis software.
- A single-phase power and energy logger for circuits where a CT can be clipped around the conductor.
Applications
Typical hire applications: The CT-2VA is intended for single-phase power and energy studies where a clamp-on CT is practical.
What the CT-2VA records:
- Single-phase voltage and current.
- Power and energy values derived from the voltage and current measurements.
- Minimum, maximum and average values over the selected averaging period.
- Data for comparing voltage behaviour with current demand.
Why constant sampling matters: the Electrocorder samples throughout the averaging period, helping capture short events, changing loads and trend data that can be missed by periodic snapshots.
The logger is typically installed by a competent person at a distribution board, meter board or suitable circuit. If isolated test points or a mains socket are available, it can often be fitted without interrupting the supply.
After logging, connect the logger to a PC by USB and use Electrosoft to view, save, export and report on the results.

Free Electrosoft PC software
Electrosoft is compatible with Windows 11 down to Windows 7. It lets you view and zoom current, power and energy graphs, export data to Microsoft Excel, email results to colleagues, and print or save reports as PDF files with your company logo.
Electrosoft includes statistics, load balancing, tariff and costing analysis, annual CO2 and energy usage projections, logger management and calibration management tools. Sample files are included so you can try the software without having a logger connected.

Features
When to hire the CT-2VA
Choose this model when you need single-phase voltage, current, power and energy data and a clamp-on CT is physically suitable.
Compare with related hire models
If a flexible coil is easier to fit, consider the EC-2VA. If the load plugs into a standard socket, consider the AL-2VA. For three-phase systems, consider the EC-7VAR-RS.
Key features:
- Records single-phase voltage and current together.
- Clamp-on CT current sensing.
- Useful for energy monitoring, voltage/current correlation and load studies.
- Configurable averaging period for short or longer-term monitoring.
- Constant sampling to reduce the risk of missing short-duration or changing load events.
Measurement note
Because the CT-2VA measures voltage and current together, it can support power and energy analysis. It should be installed by a competent person where access to conductors or distribution equipment is required.
Determining product order codes:
To specify your Electrocorder select various codes and enter into the boxes in order to create an accurate product code. For example: CT-2VA-5H-UK-IP65-SET.

FAQ
How do I choose the hire length?
Use the product quantity as the number of whole weeks required. Part weeks are rounded up to the next whole week.
When does the hire clock start?
The hire clock starts the day after delivery and includes one extra day after the logging period for return.
Who returns the logger?
You are responsible for returning the logger to us after the hire period using your own courier.
What is the CT-2VA used for?
It is used for single-phase voltage, current, power and energy monitoring.
How is it different from EC-2VA?
The CT-2VA uses a clamp-on current transformer. The EC-2VA uses a flexible Rogowski coil.
Can it help explain low-voltage problems?
Yes. Because it records voltage and current together, it can help show whether low voltage coincides with high current demand.
