Overview
The Electrocorder EC-1V is a compact single-phase voltage recorder for plug-in voltage monitoring, customer voltage complaints, voltage optimisation checks and mailed voltage investigations.
Use it when you need a simple way to record true RMS voltage, minimum voltage and maximum voltage from a standard socket. The EC-1V is especially useful when a logger needs to be sent to a customer or remote site so voltage evidence can be collected without arranging an engineer visit.
Best for:
- Single-phase voltage complaints and supply-voltage investigations.
- Mailing or couriering a recorder to a customer with a reported voltage problem.
- Before-and-after checks for voltage optimisation work.
- Facilities, maintenance and utility support teams that need simple plug-in voltage evidence.
- Sites where voltage-only data is enough and current measurement is not required.
Consider another model if:
- You need live-to-neutral and earth-to-neutral voltage channels, where the EC-2V may be a better fit.
- You need voltage and current together, where an EC-2VA, CT-2VA or EC-7VAR-RS may be more appropriate.
- You need three-phase voltage monitoring, where the EC-3V or SL-3V may be a better choice.
What you get:
- EC-1V logger.
- Voltage lead, USB lead, hard carry case, battery, user instructions and free Electrosoft analysis software.
- A small, portable voltage recorder that can be posted to customers or used on site.
Set up the logger in Electrosoft, plug it into the socket or voltage lead arrangement being monitored, then start recording. When enough data has been captured, disconnect the logger, connect it to a PC by USB and use Electrosoft to view, save, export and report on the results.
Applications
Typical applications: The EC-1V is intended for practical voltage-only investigations where the main question is whether the local voltage is too high, too low, unstable or changing over time.
What the EC-1V records:
- Single-phase true RMS voltage.
- Minimum, maximum and true average voltage values over the selected averaging period.
- Voltage dips, swells and long-term supply-voltage trends.
- Date and time information for reviewing voltage behaviour.
Why constant sampling matters: many instruments only take periodic snapshots. The Electrocorder continuously samples throughout the averaging period, helping capture short events, changing loads and trend data that can otherwise be missed.
Recording duration depends on the selected averaging period. Longer averaging periods support extended complaint investigations, while shorter periods give more detailed views of voltage variation.
When fitted with a suitable plug or voltage lead, the EC-1V can be used by non-specialist site staff following instructions. It is commonly mailed to customers with reported voltage issues, then returned for data download and analysis.

Free Electrosoft PC software
Electrosoft is compatible with Windows 11 down to Windows 7. It lets you view and zoom current, power and energy graphs, export data to Microsoft Excel, email results to colleagues, and print or save reports as PDF files with your company logo.
Electrosoft includes statistics, load balancing, tariff and costing analysis, annual CO2 and energy usage projections, logger management and calibration management tools. Sample files are included so you can try the software without having a logger connected.

Features
When to choose the EC-1V
Choose this model when the priority is simple single-phase voltage evidence, especially where the logger may need to be posted or used by someone without access to a distribution board.
Compare with related Electrocorder models
If earth-to-neutral voltage is important, consider the EC-2V. If current, power or energy are also needed, consider the EC-2VA, CT-2VA or AL-2VA depending on the installation. For three-phase voltage, consider the EC-3V or SL-3V.
Key features:
- Small single-phase voltage recorder for socket-level monitoring.
- Records true RMS voltage, minimum voltage and maximum voltage.
- Suitable for voltage complaints, optimisation checks and long-term supply monitoring.
- Simple field use when supplied with the correct plug or lead arrangement.
- Constant sampling to reduce the risk of missing short-duration voltage events.
Measurement note
The EC-1V is a voltage recorder. It does not measure current, power or power factor.

FAQ
Why is the EC-1V described as mailable?
It is small enough to send to customers or remote sites so voltage data can be collected without a site visit.
What does the EC-1V measure?
It records single-phase true RMS voltage, including minimum, maximum and true average values.
Can it help with voltage optimisation checks?
Yes. It can record voltage before and after optimisation so the change can be reviewed with evidence.
Does it measure current or energy?
No. For current, power or energy, consider an EC-2VA, CT-2VA or AL-2VA depending on the application.
What software is used to analyse the data?
Electrosoft PC software is used to configure the logger, download recorded data, view graphs, export data and create reports.
