Hire
Hire the Electrocorder EC-3A-RS by the week.
For one week hire, enter quantity 1. For two weeks, enter quantity 2. For three weeks, enter quantity 3, and so on.
How hire periods are counted:
- 1 week hire gives 9 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 7 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- 2 week hire gives 16 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 14 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- 3 week hire gives 23 days in total: the hire clock starts the day after delivery, allows 21 days of logging, and includes one extra day to return the logger.
- Part weeks are rounded up to the next whole week.
You are responsible for returning the logger to us after the hire period has finished, using your own courier.
Overview
Hire the Electrocorder EC-3A-RS for temporary logging work.
Use it when you need to record three-phase current over time, especially on larger industrial or commercial loads where a conventional clamp logger may not have enough current range. The EC-3A-RS uses three flexible Rogowski coils that fit around conductors up to 140 mm diameter and records TRMS average, minimum and maximum current values throughout the selected averaging period.
Good hire choice for:
- Three-phase load surveys on high-current circuits.
- Feeder loading checks and current-consumption investigations.
- Energy audits where current trends are enough to identify major load patterns.
- Sites where flexible Rogowski coils are easier to fit than clamp current transformers.
Consider another hire model if:
- You need voltage, current, power, energy and power factor together, where the EC-7VAR-RS is a better fit.
- You only need lower current ranges on smaller conductors, where the CT-3A-RS may be simpler.
- You need voltage-only monitoring, where an EC-3V or SL-3V voltage recorder may be more appropriate.
Hire kit includes:
- EC-3A-RS logger in the smaller 190 x 120 x 60 mm enclosure.
- Three flexible Rogowski current sensors for conductors up to 140 mm diameter.
- USB download lead, carry case, 12 Vdc power supply, batteries, user instructions and free Electrosoft analysis software.
Applications
Typical hire applications: The EC-3A-RS is intended for current-only studies where larger current ranges or flexible sensors are needed. Because it does not require a voltage connection, it is often quicker to install than a full power logger.
What the EC-3A-RS records:
- Three-phase current using flexible Rogowski coils.
- Dual current ranges: 4 A to 400 A and 30 A to 3 kA.
- TRMS average, minimum and maximum values across the selected averaging period.
- Long-term trend data for load surveys, energy audits and fault investigations.
Why constant sampling matters: the Electrocorder samples throughout the averaging period, helping capture short events, changing loads and trend data that can be missed by periodic snapshots.
The logger is built into a rugged 190 x 120 x 60 mm enclosure and is supplied with a protective carry case, flexible Rogowski coils, USB lead and external 12 Vdc power supply. External power is recommended when available to preserve the internal batteries.
After logging, connect the logger to a PC by USB and use Electrosoft to view, save, export and report on the results.

Free Electrosoft PC software
Electrosoft is compatible with Windows 11 down to Windows 7. It lets you view and zoom current, power and energy graphs, export data to Microsoft Excel, email results to colleagues, and print or save reports as PDF files with your company logo.
Electrosoft includes statistics, load balancing, tariff and costing analysis, annual CO2 and energy usage projections, logger management and calibration management tools. Sample files are included so you can try the software without having a logger connected.

Features
When to hire the EC-3A-RS
Choose this model when the main question is how much current a three-phase circuit carries over time, especially where high current range and flexible fitting matter more than voltage or power-factor measurement.
Compare with related hire models
If you need voltage, current, power and power factor together, consider the EC-7VAR-RS. If the conductors are smaller and lower current ranges are enough, consider the CT-3A-RS. If the investigation is about voltage quality or supply variation, consider the EC-3V or SL-3V.
Key features:
- Three flexible Rogowski coils for practical fitting around large conductors.
- Dual current ranges for both moderate and high-current circuits.
- Current-only installation without a voltage connection.
- Configurable averaging period for short investigations or longer-term monitoring.
- Constant sampling to reduce the risk of missing short-duration or changing load events.
- Tamper-resistant setup: once configured on a PC, site personnel cannot alter logging parameters from the logger.
Measurement note
Because the EC-3A-RS is a current-only logger, it is useful for load surveys and current trend analysis, but it does not calculate kW, kVA, kVAR or power factor by itself. Use a power logger such as the EC-7VAR-RS when those values are needed.

To specify your Electrocorder select various codes and enter into the boxes in order to create an accurate product code. For example: EC-3A-RS-5H-IP65-SET.

FAQ
How do I choose the hire length?
Use the product quantity as the number of whole weeks required. Part weeks are rounded up to the next whole week.
When does the hire clock start?
The hire clock starts the day after delivery and includes one extra day after the logging period for return.
Who returns the logger?
You are responsible for returning the logger to us after the hire period using your own courier.
When should I choose the EC-3A-RS?
Choose it for three-phase current-only monitoring where larger current ranges or flexible Rogowski coils are needed.
Does it measure voltage or power factor?
No. The EC-3A-RS is a current logger. For voltage, current, power, energy and power factor together, consider the EC-7VAR-RS.
Why use Rogowski coils?
Rogowski coils are flexible and can be easier to fit around large conductors or awkward busbar/cable arrangements than rigid clamp sensors.
