Products by Use
Find the right Electrocorder by starting with the job you need to do: saving energy, checking voltage, investigating equipment faults, measuring load, analysing power factor, or recording solar and battery systems.
Each section explains what you are trying to prove, what usually needs to be measured, which logger types are commonly used, and which supporting guides or case studies may help.

- Machines tripping, resetting or behaving intermittently
- Load surveys, current logging and feeder checks
- Power factor and three-phase power analysis
- Solar PV, battery storage and DC systems
- Hire a logger for short-term investigation
- Software, calibration, repair and support
Energy auditing and saving energy

Best starting point when: You need to understand where electrical energy is being used, whether savings are realistic, and how load patterns change over time.
What to measure:
- Voltage
- current
- power and energy over time
- Load profile and peak demand
- Usage before and after improvement work
Typical product routes:
- EC-7VAR-RS: Electrocorder EC-7VAR-RS Three Phase Voltage, Current & Power Factor Recorder
- EC-3A-RS: Electrocorder EC-3A-RS Three Phase Current Recorder (400A/3kA)
- CT-3A-RS: Electrocorder CT-3A-RS Three Phase Current Logger (60A/200A or 60A/400A)
- EC-2VA: Electrocorder EC-2VA Power Logger and Energy Recorder
- CT-2VA: Electrocorder CT-2VA Power and Energy Recorder
- AL-2VA: Electrocorder AL-2VA Energy Logger for Domestic and Light Commercial Appliances
How to choose: Choose EC-7VAR-RS for three-phase power and energy analysis. Use EC-2VA or CT-2VA for single-phase/circuit-level power logging. Use AL-2VA when a plug-in appliance route is simplest. Use current-only loggers when current trends are enough.

Voltage problems, high voltage and voltage optimisation

Best starting point when: You need to check whether supply voltage is too high, too low, unstable, interrupted or suitable for voltage optimisation.
What to measure:
- Single-phase or three-phase voltage over time
- Minimum, maximum and average voltage
- Voltage dips, rises and long-term supply variation
- Voltage before and after optimisation
Typical product routes:
- EC-7VAR-RS: Electrocorder EC-7VAR-RS Three Phase Voltage, Current & Power Factor Recorder
- EC-3V: Electrocorder EC-3V Three Phase Voltage Recorder
- SL-3V: Electrocorder SL-3V Compact Three Phase Voltage Recorder
- EC-2V: Electrocorder EC-2V Voltage Logger
- EC-1V: Electrocorder EC-1V (Mailable) Voltage Recorder
- LS-1V: Electrocorder LS-1V Interruption Voltage Logger
How to choose: Choose EC-1V for simple single-phase voltage recording, EC-2V when live-neutral and earth-neutral comparison matters, and EC-3V or SL-3V for three-phase voltage. Use LS-1V for voltage interruption timing rather than detailed voltage level analysis.

Machines tripping, resetting or behaving intermittently

Best starting point when: Equipment resets, trips, locks out or behaves unexpectedly, and you need recorded electrical proof rather than spot readings.
What to measure:
- Supply voltage during faults
- Voltage presence and interruption timing
- Relationship between voltage and current
- Three-phase power-quality indicators where needed
Typical product routes:
- EC-7VAR-RS: Electrocorder EC-7VAR-RS Three Phase Voltage, Current & Power Factor Recorder
- EC-3V: Electrocorder EC-3V Three Phase Voltage Recorder
- SL-3V: Electrocorder SL-3V Compact Three Phase Voltage Recorder
- EC-2V: Electrocorder EC-2V Voltage Logger
- EC-1V: Electrocorder EC-1V (Mailable) Voltage Recorder
- LS-1V: Electrocorder LS-1V Interruption Voltage Logger
How to choose: Start with voltage logging when resets may be caused by supply dips, interruptions or high/low voltage. Use EC-7VAR-RS when current, power factor or load behaviour may also be part of the fault.

Load surveys, current logging and feeder checks

Best starting point when: You need to know how much current a circuit, feeder, transformer or item of equipment carries over time.
What to measure:
- Single-phase or three-phase current
- Minimum, maximum and average current
- Load profile and peak demand
- Feeder capacity and current trend proof
Typical product routes:
- EC-7VAR-RS: Electrocorder EC-7VAR-RS Three Phase Voltage, Current & Power Factor Recorder
- EC-3A-RS: Electrocorder EC-3A-RS Three Phase Current Recorder (400A/3kA)
- CT-3A-RS: Electrocorder CT-3A-RS Three Phase Current Logger (60A/200A or 60A/400A)
- CT-1A: Electrocorder CT-1A Single Phase Current Recorder
How to choose: Choose CT models where clamp-on CTs fit the conductors. Choose EC-3A-RS where flexible Rogowski coils or higher three-phase current ranges are useful. Choose EC-7VAR-RS when voltage, power and energy are also required.

Power factor and three-phase power analysis

Best starting point when: You need to understand real power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor or three-phase load behaviour.
What to measure:
- Voltage and current together
- kW, kVA and kVAR
- Power factor
- Phase loading and energy demand
Typical product routes:
- EC-7VAR-RS: Electrocorder EC-7VAR-RS Three Phase Voltage, Current & Power Factor Recorder
How to choose: Use EC-7VAR-RS when the investigation needs voltage, current, power, energy and power factor together. Simpler current or voltage recorders are useful for narrower questions, but they do not calculate full three-phase power values by themselves.

Useful reading:
Solar PV, battery storage and DC systems

Best starting point when: You need to measure DC voltage, DC current, solar irradiance, PV output or battery-system behaviour.
